Creative Brainstorm Warning – Cultural Plan Survey is now Online, and seeks Community Input

Is Public Art or a sculpture walk important to you? Mountains of Art? Or just mountains? Theatre sports? Farmers’ markets? Events and races? Live music? What about a Children’s Art Fair? Interpretive history walks? Downtown wayfinding that acknowledges Lil’wat Nation culture? Are salmon festivals and Slow Food Cycles the most important cultural events in your calendar? Or snowmobile Poker Runs? Darts tournaments? Trail runs? Has life in Pemberton not been the same since the demise of the Barn Dance? Are you excited about a barn-style market hall being built at the entrance of town? Would you rather see more picnic tables for community summer suppers? The Village invites your creative brainstorming.

The first 48 hours that the Village of Pemberton’s Cultural Plan Survey was online, before staff had a chance to promote it, 21 surveys were filled in, suggesting either that Pembertonians love multiple choice tests, or they’re deeply passionate about arts and culture.

The Cultural Plan survey is a chance for residents to help prioritise actions and provide momentum for the Village over the next ten years.

The Survey is accessed from the Village of Pemberton website at pemberton.ca, and can be completed in ten minutes.

The Village has also created a facebook page for the “Pemberton & Area Cultural Plan”, as a central hub for information and updates about the Plan.
