Story Harvest – Pickings Due January 15.
Posted by Lisa Richardson on January 3, 2011 · Leave a Comment
When the Pemberton Library first launched its Story Harvest in winter 2008, for Winterfest, the yield was a plentiful and intriguing collection of profiles of local characters. Further collections of story-portraits were harvested during Pemberton’s signature summer festival, the Slow Food Cycle.
This winter, the library has cast out a fresh challenge.
Map Your Neighbourhood with Words.
To celebrate Winterfest 2012 (January 20-22), the Pemberton & District Library is collecting stories about your favourite PLACE in the region. Don’t worry, you can keep the GPS coordinates completely secret.
Just share a 300 word story about a favourite place in Pemberton, the Meadows, Mt Currie, Birken, D’Arcy, your backyard, your playground, wherever you love. Include a photo or drawing, if you have one. The Harvest welcomes all levels of writer, even those who haven’t written much, or anything, before.
Submit by January 15 to library@pemberton.bclibrary.ca.
(And if that fires up the scribbler in you, drop in to the first Writers Group gathering, 6-7pm on Monday, 16 January.)
